PayStay shakes up parking in Brisbane
Brisbane motorists will soon benefit from greater choice and convenience, with a new pay-by-app parking provider set to launch in 2026.
Council will expand Brisbane’s digital parking system from a single operator to two, with Orikan’s PayStay joining existing provider CellOPark from March 2026.
Introducing multiple providers will give motorists the freedom to choose their preferred app while strengthening reliability and improving the overall user experience.
Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner says this change delivers more choice, more convenience and better service for drivers.
“Brisbane is growing and motorists want simpler and more reliable ways to pay for parking”.
Mark Oliver, Chief Customer Officer, Orikan agrees.
“Our focus has always been on making parking easier for motorists. We’re pleased to offer Brisbane drivers another reliable digital option, helping lift service quality and ensuring people only pay for the time they use”.
App-only spaces continue to grow in the city, with 2600 of Brisbane’s 9126 paid spaces already digital-only.
PayStay began operating in 2014 in the City of Melbourne and currently has more than two million registered users with thousands more utilising it’s no sign-up guest service. The app underwent a major overhaul of its user interface in 2024 in direct response to deep market research and customer feedback.
